Scientists are exceptionally good at explaining what they do. The harder question—the one that makes people stop and actually care—is why. Pace Analytical had been the largest privately owned commercial testing firm in the United States for decades, doing work that touches everything we eat, drink, breathe, and take to get well. They just hadn't learned to say it that way yet. Working directly with the founder and C-suite, I helped Pace find the human story underneath the science, translating a 40-year legacy of rigorous analytical work into brand messaging that connected the lab to the life. The centerpiece was a brand video written to answer the question their scientists had never quite been asked: why does any of this matter? The answer, it turns out, is everything. The video went on to serve as both an external brand platform and an internal rallying point for the people doing the work every day. It doesn't just tell the story. It reminds people they're part of one.
